Join Us At Our Memorial Day Event

Please join us for the 2026 Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony, taking place on Monday, May 25, from 9 AM – NOON at Veterans Memorial Park on the shore of Lake Monroe in Sanford.   Heroes’ Avenue opens at 9 AM allowing guests of all ages to connect our local heroes – our veterans and first responders – who will display restored military vehicles, fire trucks, emergency command vehicles, and law enforcement equipment. A historian will provide information on America’s 250th Birthday, the Sallie Harrison chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will explain their history and service to our community.  Patriotic music will set the stage for us to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day.   The formal Ceremony begins at 10 AM and will feature

  • Guest Speaker: Captain Dan Sinclair, U.S. Army Veteran
  Captain Sinclair, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a decorated infantry officer, served in Stabilization Force 8, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom 7 and 8. awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal multiple awards, and the Combat Action Badge. Following his military service, Dan transitioned to the civilian sector, where he has built his career as a leader in the medical device industry, supporting various healthcare organizations and technology, including Johnson & Johnson and Baxter Healthcare.  He remains deeply committed to the veteran community, serving as Public Relations Officer for the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Central Florida Chapter 20-16.   We hope you will be able to join us in honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
