PUBLIC NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE OF FIRST PUBLIC HEARING AND INVITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

The City of Sanford receives annual Federal grants administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These programs include the Community Development Block Grant with an estimated funding available from HUD for the 2024-2025 Program Year, beginning October 1, 2024, and ending September 30, 2025.

CDBG $ 464,255

The grant funds a wide variety of housing and community development activities for the benefit of low-moderate-income persons within the city limits of Sanford. These programs will fund activities that address the housing and community development needs and priorities identified in the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan. The City has also prepared the FY 2024-2025 One-Year Action Plan, which outlines programs and projects to be funded and implemented during the 2024-2025 program year to meet the goals identified in the Five-Year Consolidated Plan.

Community Input: On July 08, 2024, the City of Sanford Commissioners will be considering the FY 2024-2025 One-Year Action Plan for approval. Before submitting the plans to the Commission for approval, the Community Development Division is soliciting public comments and input on the FY 2024-2025 One-Year Action Plan. The public comment period will be open from May 26 through June 26, 2024.

Community Development Division staff will host a Public Hearing of the FY 2024-2025 One-Year Action Plan and field public comments on Thursday, June 6, 2024, in the City of Sanford’s Commission Chamber, located on the first floor, at 300 N Park Avenue, Sanford, FL 32771. The community meeting will be held from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to receive comments from the public regarding the proposed plan.

Comments may also be mailed to the City of Sanford, 300 N Park Ave, Sanford FL 32771. Comments will be received until 11:59 pm Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

Advice to the public: If a person decides to appeal a decision made concerning any matter considered at the above meeting or hearing, he or she may need a verbatim record of the proceedings, including the testimony and evidence, which record is not provided by the City of Sanford. (FS 286.0105) Please be advised that one or more members of the City Commission of the City of Sanford may be attending this meeting and subjects and matters involving the City of Sanford may be discussed although this event is not a City of Sanford Commission meeting.
