Parks and Recreation department offers a wide variety of youth and after school programs. We have football, soccer, baseball, basketball, cultural arts, tutoring, and more. All of the programs are listed through our online customer portal. You can create an account, schedule, and even make a payment. By clicking the view programs link you will be taken to our new secure registration process with the City of Sanford.

Afterschool Programs

The City of Sanford offers afterschool care during the school year at the Jeff Triplett Community Center. The program consists of sports, cultural arts, tutoring and much more. There is an annual membership fee of $40 per child for the afterschool program and limited transportation is available from Midway, Goldsboro, Pinecrest and Wicklow Elementary Schools.

The facility is located at 1211 S. Mellonville Avenue, in Sanford which is adjacent to Hamilton Elementary School. For more information please call City of Sanford Parks and Recreation 407-688-5120.

Baseball

The City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department offers youth baseball leagues in the spring and fall. League age is 4 to 12 in the Cal Ripken Division and 13 to 18 in the Babe Ruth Division. Sanford leagues are co-ed and games are played at the Herbert “Whitey” Eckstein – Chase Park, 1500 Celery Avenue, Sanford 32771; Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium and Zinn Beck Field, 1201 S. Softball

The City of Sanford Recreation Department is excited to announce the addition of girls fastpitch softball to the Spring 2023 Babe Ruth lineup! Chase Park Youth Sports Complex will be home to Babe Ruth Girls youth fastpitch softball. We’re offering 3 divisions of youth softball: 8 and under, 10 and under, and 12 and under. Aquatic Center

The City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department offers swim lessons from spring to fall and the facility is available for open swim most of the year. Lessons are offered from three year old to adults.  Click on Register Here! for more information and specific dates and times.

Developed as a joint project between the City of Sanford, Seminole County and the Seminole County School Board, the Aquatic Center was opened to the public in March of 2000 and resurfaced in 2022. Since opening, the pool has hosted numerous competitive tournaments and events, including high school championship swimming and diving.

Basketball

The City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department offers youth basketball annually in the fall/winter. Our league is a Jr. Magic partner and provides play for children aged 5 to 14. The Youth Basketball Leagues are held at the Velma H Williams Westside Community Center located at 919 S. Persimmon Avenue, Sanford FL 32771. Cost is $20 per player and includes a Jr. Magic jersey.

Flag Football

The Sanford-Seminole Flag Football Leagues are provided to the citizens of Sanford and Seminole County though a combined effort of the City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department and the Seminole County Police Athletic League (PAL). The league is co-ed for ages 6 to 14. League fees are $40 per player, which includes the jersey. Flag football games are played on Saturday mornings at the Jeff Triplett Community Center fields, 1211 S. Mellonville Avenue, Sanford 32711.
