Please join us for the 2025 Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony, taking place on Monday, May 26, from 9 – 11 AM at Veterans Memorial Park, on the shore of Lake Monroe in Sanford.
Experience Heroes’ Avenue, enjoy live patriotic music, and explore the monuments throughout Veterans Memorial Park while taking a few moments to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day. Begnning at 9 AM, local heroes will be on hand displaying restored military vehicles, fire trucks, emergency command vehicles, and law enforcement equipment. This is a special opportunity for guests of all ages to connect with our veterans and first responders and learn more about their service and tools.
The Remembrance Ceremony will begin at 10 AM, with Barron Mills, a decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Camaraderie Foundation Board Member, as our keynote speaker. The sponsoring veteran organization is Sanford’s own AMVETS (American Veterans), Post 17, with Commander James Melton, a U.S. Army veteran, accepting the Memorial Day Proclamation. Kenneth (KJ) Boggs, Veterans Service Officer for Seminole County, will be the Master of Ceremonies.
