Sanford Listens: A new way to hear from our Community!
The City of Sanford in May 2025 introduced a new series of small community surveys, called “Sanford Listens”. These surveys invite the community to provide input on a variety of topics. Surveys will be brief, focusing on a central topic. New survey topics will be posted periodically.
The current survey is on the City of Sanford Budget process and can be found at the link provided. This survey will close on May 12, 2025.

In Late 2023 the City of Sanford hosted a Community Survey via the instrument, known as The National Community Survey™, allows the City of Sanford to compare results and benchmark residents’ opinions against other communities across the country. The survey included questions about quality of life, important characteristics of community, services provided by Sanford, and priorities for the future.

The “Sanford Listens” is a series of short community survey that support the previously conducted National Community Survey hosted in late 2023/ early 2024. It allows the City of Sanford to get feedback on the progress the City has made but also continues to find areas to improve.
Each survey focuses on a central topic/idea and the results of each will can be found here.
The City of Sanford is currently reviewing your valuable input on the future development of a city owned site, an area generally located north of First Street between Palmetto Avenue and Sanford Avenue and south of Seminole Boulevard and a portion of the block generally located north of Commercial Street between Hood Avenue and Palmetto Avenue and south of Seminole Boulevard.
The survey was hosted for one month (September 24, 2024 thru October 31, 2024*), and is hosted by the City Sanford allowing for anonymous feedback from our residents and visitors. *an extension was granted due to Hurricane Milton.

What’s Next? Staff will draft a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the City Commission’s review and input for future development and use of the site.
