Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of youth and after-school programs. We have football, soccer, baseball, basketball, cultural arts, tutoring, and more. All of the programs are listed through our online customer portal. You can create an account, schedule, and even make a payment. You will be taken to our secure registration process by clicking the View Programs link.

After-School Care at the
Jeff Triplett Community Center
A Safe, Fun, and Enriching Experience for Your Child!
The City of Sanford offers a vibrant after-school program designed to keep your child engaged, active, and learning after school! With a variety of exciting activities like sports, cultural arts, and tutoring, our program ensures your child’s time is productive and enjoyable while encouraging creativity, teamwork, and personal development.
- Homework Help: Our program includes dedicated time for homework assistance, giving your child the support they need to stay on top of their studies.
- Sports & Physical Fitness: Get moving with our sports programs that promote physical health, teamwork, and fun!
- Cultural Arts: Explore the world of creativity through visual arts, dance, and other cultural activities.
- Affordable: Enjoy all of these benefits for just $40 per child per year.
- Transportation: We offer limited transportation from Midway Elementary and Millennium Middle School to the community center for added convenience.

Youth Baseball
The City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department offers youth baseball leagues for the Spring and Fall seasons. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to build on their skills, we have a division for everyone!
Divisions: Cal Ripken Division (Ages 4-12) & Babe Ruth Division (Ages 13-18).
Leagues are Co-Ed and Games are played at:
- Herbert “Whitey” Eckstein – Chase Park (1500 Celery Avenue)
- Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium (1201 S. Mellonville Avenue)
- Zinn Beck Field (1201 S. Mellonville Avenue)

Softball
The City of Sanford Recreation Department is excited to announce the addition of girls fastpitch softball to the Spring 2023 Babe Ruth lineup! Chase Park Youth Sports Complex will be home to Babe Ruth Girls youth fastpitch softball. We’re offering 3 divisions of youth softball: 8 and under, 10 and under, and 12 and under. The City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department offers ‘open swim’ hours with lifeguards on duty as well as swim lessons for all ages, from three-year-olds to adults, from spring through fall. Whether you’re learning the basics, getting a workout, or hoping to relax, our pool is the perfect place to get comfortable in the water!

Youth Basketball
🏀 Join the Jr. Magic Youth Basketball League! 🏀
The Parks and Recreation Department invites all young athletes to participate in our Youth Basketball League this fall/winter season! As a proud Jr. Magic Partner, this league provides children aged 5 to 14 the opportunity to develop basketball skills in a fun, supportive, and safe environment.
Program Highlights:
- Skill Development: This is more than just games—our league focuses on teaching the fundamentals of basketball, including shooting, passing, dribbling, and basic game strategies, all while emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Clinics & Coaching: We’ll offer special clinics and coaching development for all participants, ensuring they receive the guidance needed to grow as athletes.
- Game Days: Four age divisions, each with dedicated game days throughout the week:
- Drills & Skills (all ages): Mondays
- Biddy Ball (Ages 5-6) & Prep Ball (Ages 7-8): Tuesdays
- Juniors (Ages 9-10): Thursdays
- Seniors (Ages 11-14): Saturdays
- Season Dates: December 5, 2024 – February 10, 2025
- Location: Dr. Velma H. Williams Westside Community Center at 919 S. Persimmon Avenue.
- Cost: $40 per player
- Bonus!: Each registered child receives an Orlando Magic ball and a ticket to attend a selected game.

Youth Flag Football
🏈 Play. Learn. Compete. 🏈
The Sanford-Seminole Flag Football Leagues are provided to Sanford and Seminole County citizens through a combined effort of the City of Sanford Parks and Recreation Department, the Sanford Police Department, and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.
- Age Divisions: 5-8, 9-11, and 12-14.
- Registration fee: $40.
- Registration Period: November 13, 2024 – February 5, 2025 (or until full). Secure Your Spot – Register today!
- Game Days: Saturday mornings starting March 1, 2025, at the Jeff Triplett Community Center fields at the Tim Raines Sports Park.
- Game Format: Instructional & Fun! The Season consists of 7 games. League is five-on-five, with two (2), twenty-minute halves allowing for more “touch time” with the ball and creating an opportunity for kids to actively engage in the game.
- Practices: Will be scheduled by volunteer coaches and begin two weeks prior to game day.
- Volunteers Welcome: If you’re interested in coaching or helping out, we welcome volunteer coaches! For more information on volunteering, email Dominic.Pascuzzo@sanfordfl.gov.

The Parks and Recreation Department’s Youth Soccer League is for kids ages 4-10 and is designed to provide a fun, instructional experience that helps young athletes develop basic soccer skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
