Veterans Day Ceremony

Join the City of Sanford on Wednesday, November 11, at 11 AM at Veterans Memorial Park as our community gathers to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.  Veterans, families, and neighbors are invited to come together in gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

The keynote address will be provided by Vanessa Thomas, the State Women Veterans’ Coordinator at the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs (FDVA).  We will also recognize the service of Sanford resident Edna Cross Burton who served in the historic 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion during World War II which was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 2022 and immortalized in Tyler Perry’s 2024 feature film.
