SUMMARY:Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:As our Nation approaches the 250th anniversary of American Independence in 2026, we are reminded that the freedoms we cherish today were secured through the blood, sweat, and sacrifice of patriots across more than two centuries.  The City of Sanford invites you and your family to join us in a heartfelt tribute to our fallen service members at the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Veterans Memorial Park.\nThe morning begins at 9:00 AM, as Park Avenue transforms into “Heroes’ Avenue” a display featuring restored military vehicles alongside police, fire, and sheriff department vehicles. Representatives from the Florida Military Vehicle Heritage Group, Military Vehicle Preservation Association and WW2 Armor are providing equipment and vehicles for inspection.  This is a chance to get up close, meet first responders and veterans, and enjoy live patriotic music that sets the tone for this meaningful day.\nThe formal Remembrance Ceremony starts at 10:00 AM, led by Joseph Cote, U.S. Army (Ret), and the Division Manager for Seminole County Veterans Services. This year’s Keynote Speaker is Captain Dan Sinclair, U.S. Army (Ret), a decorated artillery officer and a veteran of Stabilization Force 8, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom 7 and 8.  CAPT Sinclair also serves as the Public Relations Officer for the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Central Florida Chapter 20-16.\nLet’s come together as a community to remember and celebrate the lives of the brave Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guard members who gave everything for our freedom.\nThis year’s event is proudly sponsored by Casselberry Veterans, Inc., an esteemed veterans club known for its community spirit, inclusion of and support for veterans of all military branches.\nVeterans Memorial Park, 110 W. Seminole Blvd., Sanford  9:00 – 11:00 AM | Monday, May 25Free parking is available at the municipal lot located at Palmetto Avenue and Seminole Boulevard.\n
