DESCRIPTION:															\nOratorical Contest & Scholarship Fund in Memoriam of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. \nThe Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee offers scholarships to the first-, second-, and third-place winners of the annual Oratorical Contest to honor Dr. King’s accomplishments and encourage our youth, through education and experience, to continue to strive to become productive citizens and give back to their communities by seeking higher education beyond high school.\nWe encourage Seminole County high school seniors, who plan to attend a college or university, to compete to receive scholarship funds.   Entrees are offered multiple coaching sessions with a Public Speaking Coach who will offer tips on the mechanics of effective speaking and provide constructive feedback that applicants may use to improve their speech.\nThis is sponsored by the City of Sanford’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee, Inc.
