
Sanford/Seminole County YouthBuild
Eligibility Requirements
Sanford/Seminole County YouthBuild is accepting applications for the Fall 2010 semester.
Applications are due no later than July 30, 2010.
Mental Toughness (tryouts) for YouthBuild begins on August 16, 2010 at 8:30 am. During the
three week tryout period, trainees will be evaluated on their interest in construction, attendance,
respect level, work ethic, literacy and numeracy grade levels, teamwork, physical ability, drug
use, and attitude.
Not everyone who applies will be accepted. Space is limited and trainees are required to
participate with all aspects of the program to include counseling, high school instruction,
community service activities, leadership development, and hands on construction training.
In order to apply for YouthBuild, applicants must return a completed application and meet the
following requirements:
→ Be 16-24 in age
→ Pass a drug test
→ Have transportation
→ Be interested in learning the construction trade
→ Be willing to work in a team setting
→ Not have any violent criminal offenses
→ Commit to completing the 9 month program
→ Be willing to work with a diverse population
→ If under 18, parent must be willing to participate in the success of the trainee
→ Be willing to work in the following conditions:
